Niger Accuses France of Provoking Mutiny Attempt in Late August and thanks Russia for it’s support

Niger accuses France of provoking an attempted mutiny in late August, Nigerien government spokesman Soumana Boubacar said.

“This operation, which has international ramifications, was instigated and supported by a vast network. .. led by the French regime of Mr. [Emmanuel] Macron,” Boubacar said in a statement cited by the RTN television channel.

In the same context, Niger thanks Russia for its assistance in stabilizing the situation in the country during an attempted mutiny in late August, Nigerien government spokesman Soumana Boubacar said.

“[The country’s government] thanks friendly nations, specifically the members of the Alliance of Sahel States, Algeria, and the Russian Federation, which, from the very beginning of these events, showed solidarity with the people of Niger and its institutions,” Boubacar said in an address cited by the RTN television channel.
