Israel, Morocco to Upgrade Diplomatic Missions to Embassies

Israeli and Moroccan authorities plan to upgrade the status of their diplomatic missions to embassies and appoint ambassadors as part of efforts to strengthen relations, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said on Thursday.

“An important meeting in New York with US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz and my colleague, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, with whom I also held an important bilateral meeting. We agreed on significant steps to strengthen Israel-Morocco relations: upgrading our diplomatic missions to embassies and appointing ambassadors, expanding direct flights to include Moroccan airlines,” Saar said on X .

He also noted that Israel and Morocco discussed concluding “two important economic agreements by the end of 2026” and arranging high-level visits.
