Morocco to produce autonomous systems in partnership with Harmattan AI

Harmattan AI, a next-generation defense prime developing autonomous defense systems, has signed a major strategic partnership with the Royal Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Morocco.

This partnership reflects the Kingdom of Morocco’s decision to deploy next-generation autonomous air defense capabilities at scale from 2026 onwards and to build a sovereign, technologically advanced defense industrial base. Harmattan AI will contribute its expertise to support three key objectives:

First, it about Establishing manufacturing capabilities in Morocco to produce autonomous defense systems;

Morocco will host an ambitious Research & Development centre dedicated to artificial intelligence in defense systems. Many partnerships will be made with Moroccan higher education and research institutions.

“This partnership demonstrates our ability to support sovereign nations in developing their domestic defense industrial base. Morocco has made a strategic choice in favour of strategic autonomy and technological sovereignty, and we are proud to contribute to this ambition. This collaboration represents the foundation of a long-term partnership with Morocco” said Mouad M’Ghari, CEO and co-founder of Harmattan AI.
