Uzbekistan choose Hungarian nuclear cooling technology

Foreign Affairs Minister Péter Szijjártó announced that an agreement will be finalized by the end of the year regarding the use of Hungary’s unique dry cooling technology in a nuclear power plant under construction in Uzbek-
istan.

This announcement followed bilateral talks with officials from Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Uzbekistan after the Unesco general meeting.

Szijjártó remarked that purchases by Hungarian companies of stakes in natural gas and oil fields in the region mean that Hungary can now act not only as a buyer on international markets, but also as a seller with hundreds of
millions of cubic metres of natural gas and hundreds of thousands of tons of oil.

“This represents a completely different dimension and contributes greatly to improving Hungary’s energy security”. He added.
