European parliament lawmaker Viktoria Ferenc from the Hungarian Fidesz party on Wednesday criticized human rights organizations for remaining silent over forced mobilization in Ukraine.
Ferenc told the MTI agency that at a meeting of the European Parliament’s subcommittee on human rights, she asked representatives of the Human Rights Democracy Network what they could do to ensure proper investigation of the already documented cases of violations by Ukrainian military recruitment offices, as well as to uphold the fundamental rights of Ukrainian citizens, including members of the Hungarian national minority.
“The representatives of the network shamefully failed to provide a substantive answer to the question that was asked,” she said .
Human rights must be consistently protected, regardless of where violations occur and “who our partner is,” Ferenc added.
