DGSN Denies Death of Stadium Steward Following Criminal Assault at Prince Moulay Abdellah Complex During AFCON Finals

The Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) has adamantly denied the fake news circulated by some social media accounts regarding “an alleged death following a criminal assault, the victim of which was a steward at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat during the final of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON-2025).”

National Security Services state that “no fatalities were recorded among private security guards or ball boys, and no procedures were carried out to identify any deceased persons in connection with events related to hooliganism,” according to a statement from the DGSN, specifying that this information has been confirmed after checking with various health establishments.

“While refuting these false reports, the National Security Services emphasize that the competent judicial authorities have been formally notified of these misleading publications and that instructions have been sought regarding the initiation of judicial investigations to identify the parties responsible for their publication and sharing, with a view to determining accountability and applying legal sanctions,” the same source adds.
