Royal Armed Forces Intercept Boat Carrying 55 Sub-Saharan Migrants off Laayoune

In a recent development, Royal Armed Forces coastal surveillance units intercepted a vessel approximately 74 kilometers north of Laayoune on Monday. The boat was found stranded with 55 Sub-Saharan individuals aboard, all of whom were identified as candidates for irregular migration, according to a statement released by the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.

The intercepted individuals had intentions to make their way to the Canary Islands. Following the interception, they received necessary medical attention before being transferred to the custody of the Royal Gendarmerie to undergo standard administrative procedures, as clarified by the same source.
