Morocco and Poland signed, on Friday, on the sidelines of the International Green Week in Berlin (Grüne Woche 2026), a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of animal health and the sanitary safety of animal products and products of animal origin.
Initialed by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari, and his Polish counterpart, Stefan Krajewski, the MoU was signed during a bilateral meeting between the two ministers, following a previous meeting held in Warsaw last September.
As Morocco is Poland’s leading African partner, this new MoU opens up new prospects for cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the livestock sector, while also constituting a new starting point for strengthening bilateral trade relations, Krajewski told MAP.
The partnership between Morocco and Poland is not limited to trade exchanges, but also includes the exchange of information and expertise, as well as cooperation in training and research, he said, considering these areas essential to the joint development of agriculture and bilateral relations.
Krajewski also welcomed the development momentum experienced by Morocco, driven by investments in new technologies and innovative solutions, stressing in this regard the importance of sharing experiences between partners.
Moreover, the Polish official expressed his satisfaction with the invitation from his Moroccan counterpart to take part in the next edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM), scheduled for April in Meknes, and voiced his desire to participate.
Founded in 1926, the Grüne Woche has, over the decades, established itself as the leading international trade fair devoted to food and agriculture. Until January 26, exhibitors from around the world are showcasing their products, innovations, and trends.
