Emmanuel Macron praises exceptional ties with Morocco

French President Emmanuel Macron praised on Thursday in Paris the excellent relations with Morocco and the major prospects for developing the Reinforced Exceptional Partnership with the Kingdom.

“In this chaotic world, we believe in strengthening partnerships. We have defended this and we have put it into practice,” Macron said at the opening of the Conference of French Ambassadors accredited abroad, highlighting the “philosophy” and “efficiency” of these partnerships.

In this context, the French Head of State cited among the “very solid foundations” of French diplomacy in the Mediterranean the exceptional ties with Morocco, which encompass “today the construction of an extremely strong bond.”

Macron emphasized on this occasion the importance of economic diplomacy and the need to adapt French diplomatic action in the face of ongoing geopolitical changes.

The French president also stressed the need to enshrine the partnership with the African continent.

“The African partnership is key, and we must see the work accomplished through to completion in 2026,” Macron added, calling on ambassadors stationed in Africa to work hard towards such goal.

Each year, the Ambassadors’ Conference brings together all French diplomatic representatives in Paris each year with the President of the Republic to set the main priorities for France’s foreign policy for the upcoming year.
