The management of the local prison in Al Arjat 1 stated on Wednesday that the prisoner ‘M.Z.’ is not on hunger strike and that his health is normal.
In a statement responding to allegations made in a press release attributed to the family of the prisoner ‘M.Z.’, detained in the local prison of Al Arjat, as well as on several websites, claiming that his health has deteriorated as a result of his hunger strike, the prison stated that, in confirming the content of the clarification issued on November 24, 2025, regarding the press release published by the family of the said prisoner, the latter “is not on hunger strike and his health is normal.”
The inmate has not expressed intent to go on hunger strike and is regularly receiving his meals and purchasing food from the prison commissary, the same source points out.
The individual himself acknowledged that he “had not submitted and would never submit a notice of hunger strike and that he consumes everything he can and wants from the meals served to him or the food he buys from the institution’s commissary, believing that going on hunger strike amounts to deliberately putting his life at risk, which is contrary to his religious beliefs.”
The prison administration wishes to reassure the public that “the prisoner is receiving the necessary medical care and also enjoys all the rights guaranteed to him by law, including the right to receive visits from his family, to communicate with his lawyer, and to contact his relatives,” while warning the prisoner’s family and parties seeking to profit from his case against “continuing these irresponsible and immoral practices.”
