Prime Minister Viktor Orbán praised Donald Trump after the US president brokered a Gaza ceasefire agreement in Egypt, along with leaders from Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar.
During the ceremony on Monday, Trump singled out Orbán, calling him “fantastic” and
“a great leader.”
Responding on Facebook, Orbán wrote that Trump “did something few would have thought possible” and praised his perseverance, saying peace efforts are “not a sprint but a marathon.”
He contrasted Trump’s persistence with what he described as European leaders’ tendency to “withdraw in a huff” when facing setbacks, adding, “you have to do it like President Trump does, keep trying again and again.”
