Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó affirmed to UK newspaper The Guardian in a break of the UN General Assembly session on Monday evening in New York that Hungary refuses to stop buying Russian energy.
Szijjártó said he respects US President Donald Trump’s call on European countries to end their dependence on Russian energy but added that Hungary’s energy supply cannot be
ensured without Russian resources.
He said the procurement of the necessary oil and natural gas is a physical issue for Hungary since energy resources can only bebought from a country where the necessary in-
frastructure exists.
