Morocco and China Establish Strategic Dialogue Between Their Foreign Ministries

Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Friday in Beijing, establishing a strategic dialogue mechanism between the two foreign ministries.

This instrument, which will enrich the legal arsenal governing the bilateral relations, draws inspiration from the Joint Statement on Strategic Partnership signed on May 11, 2016, in Beijing by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, and H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China.

The significance of this text lies in its aim to restructure high-level dialogue between Rabat and Beijing, grounded in trust, understanding, and mutual respect. It seeks to strengthen coordination and communication between the two countries’ diplomatic services on issues of common interest at all levels.

This institutional mechanism marks a new milestone in strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly and strategic partner countries and will further consolidate the historical ties linking Rabat and Beijing.
