Balázs Orbán, the Prime Minister’s Political Director, and Gladden Pappin, President of the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs, met with U.S. Vice President J. D. Vance at the White House.

“Today, we were received at the White House together with Gladden Papin by the Vice President of the United States of America, J. D. Vance,” Balázs Orbán wrote on his Facebook page.

The Prime Minister’s political director revealed that at the meeting they agreed that Hungarian-American relations are outstandingly good, and the leaders of both countries are committed to further strengthening relations.

They discussed the “difficult geopolitical situation” in the world and reviewed the status of matters for the development of bilateral relations. In the end, the parties agreed that regular high-level meetings between the leaders of the two countries would continue in the future.

Donald Trump was inaugurated as President of the United States of America for the second time in January. Gergely Gulyás, the minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office, said in mid-January that Donald Trump and Viktor Orbán will meet in the foreseeable future.
