Saudi Arabia considers autonomy plan as only solution to Sahara dispute

Saudi Arabia on Wednesday expressed its unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over the Sahara, considering the Autonomy Initiative as the only solution to this regional dispute.

This stance was expressed during the 14th session of the Morocco-Saudi Arabia Joint Commission, held in Mecca, where the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its backing for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara and endorsed the Autonomy Initiative as the only basis to resolve this regional dispute, in full respect of Morocco’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

For Saudi Arabia, any resolution to this regional dispute must come within the framework of Morocco’s sovereignty.
