Moscow highly appreciates Rabat’s balanced position on the events taking place in Ukraine. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Morocco Vladimir Baibakov in an interview with a TASS correspondent.
“Russia highly appreciates Morocco’s balanced position on the Ukrainian events, as well as Rabat’s refusal to take anti-Russian actions around this story,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
“For Russia, Morocco is a friendly country and a strategic partner. The special nature of our relations was strengthened by the agreements signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and King Mohammed VI.
“As for the impact of Western sanctions, then, of course, we feel their impact, in particular, this applies to aspects of banking services. However, Russia and Morocco manage to resolve all issues constructively in the spirit of cooperation and in the interests of the peoples of the two countries,” Baibakov stressed.
According to him, in the outgoing year, “an active political dialogue was maintained between Moscow and Rabat.” “The Moroccan delegation headed by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita took part in the ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, held in November 2024 in Sochi,” he concluded.
