Algeria has decided to withdraw its ambassador from France, the foreign ministry said on Tuesday.

According to algerian diplomacy, this decision is a reaction to the new french position over western sahara conflict.

France recognized a plan for autonomy for the Western Sahara region under Moroccan sovereignty as the only way of resolving a long-running dispute.

this is not the first time that Algeria has protested against a country having made a pro-Moroccan decision.

Algeria re took similar measures against Madrid when Spain backed Morocco’s autonomy plan in 2022.
