The 2030 World Cup, of which the Morocco-Spain-Portugal bid was selected by the FIFA Council as the sole candidacy for its organization, will be a “great success”, President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, said Monday in Madrid.
“The 2030 World Cup will be a great success because we are three nations, Portugal, Spain and Morocco, that love football as societies,” Sanchez underlined during a joint press briefing with Portuguese Prime Minister, Luis Montenegro.
“We have a long, proven history in organizing sporting events, which demonstrates our organizational capacity that few countries in the world have,” the head of the Spanish government stressed.
“I am sure that the World Cup will be a great organizational success with a friendly country like Morocco,” he insisted.
For his part, Montenegro reiterated the “full commitment” of the three countries to guarantee the success of this global event.
“We will put all our efforts and dedication to the organization of the 2030 World Cup,” the Portuguese official said, adding that Portugal, Spain and Morocco are “convinced of the importance of this event, not only from a sporting point of view, but also from an economic, cultural and opportunity point of view.
“It will be an opportunity to show the world the values that we defend in Portugal, Spain and Morocco,” he underlined.
