The Moroccan Royal Navy provided assistance to 59 illegal migrants from sub-Saharan Africa on the coast of Dakhla according to an official press release
Two combat units of the Royal Navy intercepted, in the early hours of Monday, two canoes with a total of 59 sub-Saharans on board who were candidates for irregular migration, respectively approximately 172 km to the northwest and 266 km to the southwest of Dakhla, indicates a press release from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
The rescued people, who intended to go to the Canary Islands, received the necessary care before being entrusted to elements of the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures, specifies the same source.
