Relations with Morocco have reached a high level of solidity and trust, according to the Head of the Spanish Government Pedro Sánchez
The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, affirmed, Wednesday in Madrid, that relations between Morocco and Spain have “reached a high level of solidity and trust”, stressing that these links “will always be a priority” for Madrid.
“I believe that we must continue to consolidate” these relations, added Mr. Sánchez at the opening of the 8th Conference of Spanish Ambassadors accredited abroad. The head of the Spanish Executive recalled, in this context, the Morocco-Spain High Level Meeting, held in Rabat last year, which made it possible to “open a new chapter in bilateral relations”, with “the the widest ministerial participation and the largest number of agreements signed in the history of relations between the two countries.
Furthermore, the President of the Spanish Government emphasized the importance of strengthening dialogue between countries on both shores of the Mediterranean to combat the root causes of irregular migration and raise awareness of the risk and dangers of this scourge. Stability and security in the Sahel region must remain a priority for Spain and Europe, he said.
