Prime Minister’s Office leader Bálint Ruff formally asked Speaker Ágnes Horsthoffer on Wednesday to convene a special session of Parliament for June 22-23.
In the proposal Ruff listed seven bills that the cabinet says must be approved in order to gain access to EU funds set aside for Hungary, pending its adoption of legislation reinforcing the rule of law and anti-corruption measures.
The listed bills include amendments to the media law, proposals on higher education, family affairs and culture, a motion curbing political advertisements that promote hate and a proposal on investigating committees.
The spring session of Parliament officially ended on June 15.
