
A Russian citizen was killed in a street shooting in eastern Poland on Monday, local police told RIA Novosti.
Earlier in the day, RMF FM radio reported that a passerby had been fatally shot on a street in the Polish city of Biala Podlaska.
“According to preliminary information, the shooting victim was a 44-year-old Russian citizen,” a spokesperson for the Lublin Voivodeship police said .
Police launched a manhunt for the shooter, who remains at large, the spokesperson said.
Polish news outlet Podlaski.info identified the victim as artist Robert Kuzovkov, who goes by alias Semyon Skrepetsky.
The shooting reportedly took place on Terebelska Street near Queen Jadwiga Street in a large residential area. The attacker approached Skrepetsky and fired several shots at close range. The man died on the spot.
A suspect was detained near the Belarusian Consulate in Biala Podlaska, wPolsce24 reported. According to information obtained by the outlet, the detained is a Belarusian citizen.
