
The new Hungarian government will strive for pragmatic relations with Russia based on mutual respect, foreign minister nominee Anita Orban said on Monday.
Orban took part in a meeting of the Hungarian parliament’s national security committee.
“We will strive for pragmatic relations based on sovereignty and respect for the interests of both sides,” Orban was quoted by the HVG news portal as saying when asked about future relations with Russia .
Speaking at a meeting of the parliament’s foreign affairs committee on Monday, Orban called Russia an “important economic partner” for Hungary.
