Morocco, Italy Sign Agreement on Mutual Recognition of Driving Licenses

The government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the government of the Republic of Italy signed, on Wednesday in Rome, an agreement on the mutual recognition of driving licenses for conversion purposes.

The Agreement was signed by Youssef Balla, Ambassador of His Majesty the King to the Italian Republic, and Matteo Salvini, Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, in the presence of the Vice-Minister of Maritime Transport.

During the signing ceremony at the headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Salvini expressed his admiration for the progress made by Morocco and the economic boom in road, rail and port infrastructure.

He called for further strengthening bilateral relations in the field of connectivity, highlighting the investment opportunities offered by the Kingdom.

For his part, Balla emphasized that the signing of this agreement reflects the Moroccan government’s firm and ongoing commitment, inspired by the High Instructions of His Majesty the King and the High Solicitude that the Sovereign surrounds the members of the Moroccan community.

He added that this new instrument is a further addition to the legal arsenal that frames the excellent relations of cooperation and partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Italian Republic in several areas of common interest.
