Sahara : Russia and Morocco maintain active political dialogue

On March 15, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Moscow Lotfi Bouchaara at his request.

According to a statement made by russian ministry of forein affairs, during the conversation, the ministers discussed topical issues of further progressive development of traditionally friendly Russian-Moroccan relations, including maintaining an active political dialogue on resolving the remaining crises in the Middle East and North Africa on the basis of the key principles of international law and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

Few days before, Lavrov recieved the UN envoy Staffan de Minstura to discuss about the sahara conflict. Russia remains one the main essential actors in UN Security concil. Even though it is consideed as an allie of Algeria, Moscou did never vote against UN resolutions. Morocco and Russia keep holding high level of political dialogue given their strategic economic partnership.
