A delegation of the Movement Saharawi for Peace (MSP) composed of its first secretary, Hach Ahmed Bericalla, and the person in charge of international relations, Mohammed Cherif, was received in Brussels by senior officials of the External Action Service of the European Union at its headquarters in Brussels.
The talks between the two parties centred on the situation in Sahara, the present state of the UN peace process and the settlement proposal of the MSP.
Those responsible for the Movement insisted on the need for the European Union and its External Service to encourage Staffan de Mistura, special envoy of the UN Secretary General for Sahara, to overcome the present obstacles and to bring everyone to the round table in Geneva.

The MSP officials stressed that the priority now is to break the deadlock and avoid a new failure of the UN mediators. In this regard, they expressed their willingness to work with Staffan de Mistura to move towards an agreement.
During their stay in Brussels, the delegation met with several MEPs with whom they also discussed the situation in the Sahara and the proposed solution presented by the MSP in Dakar.
