Morocco stands as a “beacon of security and cooperation in the region”, U.S. Marine Corps General Michael Langley, AFRICOM Commander, said Wednesday in Rabat.

“It is an honor to have been hosted by a nation that stands as a beacon of security and cooperation in the region”, the US military official told the press following his talks with officials from the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).

“Morocco’s commitment to regional stability is exemplary, and its leadership in fostering security cooperation is unparalleled”, he underlined, highlighting the “robust military partnership” between the United States and Morocco, which is a “testament to our shared values and dedication to peace and prosperity”.

Noting that “through years of collaboration and joint efforts, our relationship has only strengthened”, he said that the “solid bond” between the Moroccan military and U.S. Africa Command serves as a “cornerstone for stability in the region”.

Recalling that Morocco’s hospitality has extended to hosting major military exercises, such as African Lion, the largest joint military exercise in Africa, the US military official noted that “these exercises not only enhance our military capabilities but also reinforce our shared commitment to collective security”.

Tackling future prospects, U.S. Marine Corps General Michael Langley said he is confident that bilateral partnership “will continue to thrive and grow”.

“Together, we will work hand in hand to confront the challenges that lie ahead and to build a more secure and prosperous future for all”, he said, extending his thanks to Morocco, for its “unwavering commitment to peace, security and cooperation” and its “leadership that sets a shining example for the entire region”.
